Flanked by the Pacific Ocean and South San Diego Bay, Imperial Beach is nestled between miles of uncrowded beaches, big surf and unparalleled open space and wetlands teeming with wildlife. Because this town is one of the last untouched beach towns in Southern California, it is known as Classic Southern California®. It is located 14.1 miles south of downtown San Diego and 3 miles northwest of downtown Tijuana, Mexico.
